B.A. degree in Biology from Beijing Normal University in 1983 and M.S. degree in Botany from Peking University in 1986. Lecturer/Associate Professor at Peking University from 1986 to 2006; Professor at Fudan University since 2007. Visiting scholars at the Australian National University (1997,1-1998,1), University College London (2001,11-2002,4), and University of Cambridge (2003,8-2004,8).

 

Research interests

Evo-Devo: Exploring the molecular basis of the major innovations that occurred during land plant evolution by studying the duplication, diversification and co-option of key developmental regulator genes; Eco-Devo: Tracking correlations between environmental stimuli, epigenetic modification and phenotypic variation to approach the molecular mechanisms underlying phenotypic plasticity.
