From 2000 to 2004, Chien-Hsun Huang studied life sciences at Department of Life Science of Taiwan University. In 2004 he went to Institute of Plant Biology of Taiwan University for both Master’s degree and Ph.D. degree, where he obtained his Ph.D. in Plant Biology in 2012. From 2012 to 2013, he was a post-doctoral fellow at Institute of Plant Biology of Taiwan University with Prof. Tsung-Luo Jinn, studying on the mechanisms associated with stress resistance by using biochemical approaches and molecular genetics. From 2013 to 2016, he was a post-doctoral fellow at School of Life Sciences of Fudan University with Prof. Hong Ma, focusing on plant evolution with bioinformatics and genomics. From 2016 to now, he is an assistant professor at School of Life Sciences of Fudan University.
Research Interests
Dr. Chien-Hsun Huang is particularly interested in plant evolution, including phylogenetic, morphological and biological topics, using molecular genetics, genomics and bioinformatics. He has focused on molecular evolution of gene families and phylogenomics of land plants, especially large angiosperm families with agriculturally important species.
